This is the largest piece that I have done in...several years. It is at its tallest and widest points, 23x20 inches and weighs in at 29 pounds. It's a very cool piece of shale, with many ridges and variances in its surface, that gives the painting a bit of depth. I have painted this scene before, in a much smaller form, but love the scene so much, that I wanted to try it on a larger scale. I hope you like it!

Red Leaf

like the simplicity of this piece, the contrasts and the way that it
doesn't make you think, just soothes you in a way. I needed a bit of
soothing in my living room, so I tried this out. I think I like it...I
think.

This is a piece that I painted for myself, something that now takes up a good chunk of our large living room wall. I never used to like things of this sort, but now, it seems to be a more creative outlet than the average landscape, giving me a break from the average. I know that this style will not always appeal to me, but for now, it speaks to me more than my usual painting.
